I live in Brisbane, but I was born in Te Aroha, New Zealand. Every year, I visit my Mum who still lives in Te Aroha, to celebrate her birthday. This year will be her 98th birthday. Life for her has slowed down, and today as I was talking to her on the phone, I reminded her that every day is a day closer to her meeting her Lord and Saviour. I think she feels as though her days here on earth are numbered.

Next week, I will see her again. I will spend time with her and garner more stories from her childhood in Holland. I will go every morning for a walk around the Wetlands in Te Aroha, and I will take off one morning to enjoy a sunrise at Waihi Beach. And every day we will go for a drive. Who knows where, but it is the one thing she loves to do and it is the one thing I love doing with her.
