flower power – toowoomba style

Nothing nicer than enjoying a blooming good flower festival – a visual delight and a feast for the eyes. Succulents are my style, simply because they are the only plants I can get to grow, but rows of colour coordinating floral displays are stuff dreams are made of. Maybe that is why so many people come visit every year. Yep – dream on kiddo I keep telling myself!

avoiding the Brisbane traffic jam…

Had to travel to the north of Brisbane to pick up a Marketplace purchase (why did I not look up the location first!) So at 3.30pm with purchase in hand, the thought of negotiating my way back through the city made the choice to go detour, really rather easy. Always up for a ticky tour along roads that have steep inclines and really sharp bends. But oh what a view out over Wivenhoe when I reached the summit of Mt Glorious.

ash … the new sand

The aftermath of our yearly bonfire saw a good amount of leftover ash…and days later when little feet went exploring down the back of the property, it wasn’t long before they spotted something that looked much like a sandpit but oh it was so much finer, dirtier and absolutely a thousand time more fun to play in.
