Riverfire is a massive, free annual fireworks and entertainment spectacular that launches the Brisbane Festival every year in September. A highlight of the event is the flyover ( or should I say fly through) of the RAAF aircraft Globemaster and Super Hornet. An absolutely unique experience where the jets follow the meandering Brisbane River through the heart of Brisbane City, flying low enough that spectators watching from highrise offices and buildings get an absolute birdseye view. I was viewing from Paddington at Ithaca Presbyterian Church, and the views, the noise and the closeness of the jets was still quite something to experience.
The fireworks at night, despite the distance was equally as enjoyable to watch.
Ithaca Presbyterian Church holds a Riverfire event from the church carpark with family fun, food and live entertainment. Amazing views of the city without the hassle of crowds or parking issues. An event well worth coming back for year after year.
